Meredith & Avelino are a fantastic couple with a love of laughing, color, family and friends so it is no surprise that their wedding day incorporated it all! Silver City, NM held great memories for the pair this was where they first met & started dating. Although the two of the eventually set up home elsewhere, after becoming engaged they naturally, picked Silver City as their wedding destination!
Meredith and Avelino were able to select details that reflected their laid-back, light-hearted and fun personalities. They combined touches of vintage style, like Meredith’s birdcage veil and tea-length dress, with lots of modern and DIY touches such as the brides vibrant and organic bouquet, which was arranged by the bride herself. Tons of colorful paper hearts adorned their ceremony space, lined walkways and decorated their DIY ceremony arch. The couple shared personal and teary-eyed vows, all surrounded by family, friends, and the gorgeous New Mexican landscape, visible from around their venue at Bear Mountain Lodge. After the ceremony, guests danced the night away, enjoyed bubbles and homemade-jam-favors and a cozy stay & delicious breakfast at the lodge.
“Is it fair to say the whole day is my favorite memory?” asked Meredith. “From arranging flowers with my new in-laws that morning straight through to dancing like crazy with my friends and family that night, it’s hard to pinpoint just one. Perhaps it was just the overwhelming feeling of love and joy that day — the love Ave and I have for each other, as well as the loving support and joy radiating out from all our friends and family. It was such an incredible way to start our married life.”
“On a less cheesy note, if I have to pick one single thing, it’s probably the moment I realized Ave’s friend Ben was doing a deadpan reading of “Everything is Awesome,” the song from the Lego movie.” She continued. “We let our readers pick their own selections, so it was a total surprise. It cracked me up, and it just felt so perfectly us.”
“So much of the day is a blur of joy and excitement.” Ave added. “I remember looking out at all of our friends and family as I waited for Meredith to come down the aisle. It was nothing short of exhilarating: a hundred faces smiling back at me, then turning around as our party and, finally, Meredith came walking down. She sure looked beautiful.”
“And as much as I enjoyed the entire day of preparation, the ceremony and reception (including my sister’s amazing Best Man speech), perhaps what I enjoyed most was the after-party when we all sat on the porch drinking champagne from the bottle and blowing bubbles.”
