6 PODCASTS TO LISTEN TO WHILST PLANNING YOUR WEDDING

A few weeks ago we were invited by Katie & Kerrie of Get Wed podcast to be part of an upcoming session they were working on about DIY weddings. I have to admit up until then, I knew very little about podcasting, to the point where I didn’t really know what they were, how they were made or even where they could be found? So I started doing some research. It was then that I realised there was a whole new world of content out there, just waiting to be explored. The range of topics were mind blowing, how could I have been so ignorant to this world before.

Since then I have made it my mission to listen to more podcasts. I started off by listening to more from Katie & Kerrie as I figured that would be a good place to start and from there I have found a whole host of other podcasts worth listening to. Just to note these aren’t all wedding podcasts because let’s face it when you’re planning a wedding you need some downtime, so I think these 6 really hit that sweet spot between being helpful whilst planning and not sending you too much into wedding overload.

GET WED PODCAST: As I already mentioned we were lucky enough to be invited onto the the Get Wed Podcast last week to talk about all things DIY! WOMEN OF THE HOUR: This has quickly become one of my favourite podcasts! I love host, Lena Dunham soooo much! If you fancy some chill out time from the stress of wedding planning and need a good laugh whilst your at it, this is the podcast for you!

GIRLBOSS RADIO: Great for any woman not just girl bosses, this podcast oozes serious girl power! Sophia Amoruso of Nasty Gal is the host and each episode she is joined by an inspirational women. My favourites so far have been NASCAR racer, Julia Landauer & famous actress, Charlize Theron. Get ready to be seriously inspired!

SERIAL: This is a pretty hardcore podcast! If your really need to turn off from wedding planning and focus on something else then this is it. It really is a thinker and especially good if you’re into crime stories like me! Serial tells one story – a true story- over the course of a season, I’ve only just started series 1 and I am already gripped.

SAVE THE DATE PODCAST: This podcast has been around for some time and quite frankly I am disgusted that I hadn’t listened in on this before now, especially as I have chatted with the host, Aleisha McCormack a few times on social media. I found myself giggling away to her witty comments and the odd bleeped out swear word. This really is a podcast for brides and grooms who have a naughty sense of humour and those that like a no nonsense approach to the world of wedding planning.

STUFF MOM NEVER TOLD YOU: Hosted by Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin, Stuff Mom Never Told You is the audio podcast from HowStuffWorks that gets down to the business of being women from every imaginable angle. I have only listed to a few of these podcasts, but I love how relevant and informative they are – they really appeal to the nerd in me.
