6 WEDDING DAY WARDROBE MALFUNCTIONS & HOW TO FIX THEM
Being prepared for something either mentally or physically is an important thing to do, yet why is it, that it is something many of us are terrible at doing. I have never been good at being prepared, at school I would often leave it until the night before to finish an essay or revise for exams and to be honest I haven’t got much better as an adult.
Have you ever heard of the 6 p’s? I am sure I was told all about this at school but along with much of the stuff I learnt as a teenager its gone to the back of my memory bank with little or no hope of return. So for those of you who don’t know about the 6 p’s let me introduce you to a revelation, the 6 p’s stand for PRIOR PLANNING PREVENTS PISS POOR PERFORMANCE. It’s a mantra that stuck with me ever since Jess’s beau (who is also a teacher) introduced me to it and today I am applying it to your wedding day.
If your anything like me wardrobe malfunctions happen on an almost daily basis so whats saying my wedding day will be any different. Therefore I have foreseen 6 of the most popular wedding wardrobe malfunctions and started planning for them now, so as to avoid any further stress on the day. Take note ladies and add these 6 essentials to your wedding day emergency kit.
1. Stains:
I am always getting stains on my clothes, I am honestly one of these people that puts on a brand new top, or a freshly washed pair of jeans to spill something on them straight away. So in case this happens to me on the big day I am packing my stain remover wipes and these… get my stamp of approval.
2. Nip Slips:
As a lady with a very ample bosom, this is one of my biggest worries. Although I am still yet to find THE dress, there aren’t many styles where I will feel like the girls are fully contained so to avoid any movement use this fashion tape.
3. Visible Panty Line:
Whether you get VPL will totally depend on your style of dress but if you are planning on wearing a skin tight number this will be something to think about. Seamless underwear, although not very sexy, is a fantastic way to combat this just make sure to also match it to your skin tone, not your dress and buy the right size to avoid bulging.
4. Blisters:
We have all been there, dancing the night away, when suddenly it feels like your feet have decided to torture you in the most unbearable ways. Gel insoles and heel pads are great way of making sure you don’t fall victim on your wedding day so make sure you use them from the minute you put on your wedding shoes to prevent pain and include extra in your bag as a precaution.
5. Visible Bra Line:
As I mentioned earlier being rather large in the chest area means I will almost definitely need to wear a bra on my wedding day and this really limits the number of dresses that will be available to me. I often find it difficult to get multi way bras in my size however this bra clip is a great way to create a crossover and this low back strapless bra means I now have other dress options that I would never have considered otherwise.
6. Tears & Rips:
Your dressed and ready to walk out the door when one of the bridesmaids stands on the back of your gown, followed by a loud ripping sound, that can be heard echoing around the block? Don’t worry small tears can be fixed in a jiffy, all you need is a small portable sewing kit, making sure to include thread that matches the colour of your dress and someone who can sew and voila disaster averted. No one will ever know – now remind everyone to stand 2 steps behind you at all times.
