MODERN MEETS BOHO IN THIS EDGY NATIVE AMERICAN THEMED WEDDING INSPIRATION
It never ceases to amazes me just how creative people in this industry can be. From woodlands and warehouses to desserts & mountains, the suppliers we feature here have the most wonderful ability to make even the most harsh environments look like a desirable wedding location. We love nothing more than to inspire our readers to think outside the box when planning their weddings whether it be location, decor, style or even ways in which marry two different cultures and traditions much like the inspiration behind today’s editorial.
Inspired by the rich tones of a rugged landscape, Native American aesthetics, and a bohemian sensibility, this styled shoot could inspire anyone to add a little edge to their wedding day.
In designing this shoot, Lindsay Ruggieri of Custom Love wanted to evoke a Native American theme with decidedly modern details, pairing geometric table décor with a simple pallet table and colorful floor pillows and contrasting bold color with the bride and groom’s neutral-and-white attire.
To further embolden the themes of strong color and bohemian flavor, the details are all-important: from striking mismatched china to greenery-heavy floral arrangements and feather-adorned favors, each aspect of the shoot is carefully engineered to produce a distinct sense of overall unity. Even the colorful, geometric invitations mimic the painted wooden triangles that pop so spectacularly against the earth tones surrounding them.
Beyond everything, however, is an emphasis on culture and commitment. As these photographs expertly prove, the ideal wedding design will marry a couple’s diverse backgrounds while always gesturing back to the romance at the heart of the event. If every wedding is a story, this flavorful styled shoot creates a narrative of nature and romance impossible not to inspire anyone who sees it.

So in love with all of this! The mis-matched table decor and earth tone palette keep everything authentic and romantic. Great gown!
The language used in this post was disturbing to me. “Native American” is a culture and tradition, not a theme or aesthetic to be appropriated by the wedding industry.
At present the images and text seem to play to stereotypes rather than genuine respect for or knowledge of Native American culture, but I am hoping that is not truly the case. Could you expand on the thought process behind the shoot and your decision to post this?
