WEEKEND WEDDING PLANNING: TIME TO GET ORGANISED!
It’s been a while since we had a regular series on Bespoke Bride, so we are super excited to share a new one with you today. Inspired by the fact that once I started wedding planning I had no idea where to start I thought it would be useful to start a new series called weekend of wedding planning. Where I’ll be sharing some of the jobs that I’ve been tackling along with posts from around the blogosphere as inspiration. These will include helpful advice, how to’s for us DIY brides and some of the goings on around here.
I will also be sharing more of my planning journey over on my personal instagram, you can follow me @emilypettiford and I would love to see more from you guys, so snap a pic of what your getting up to this weekend ahead of the big day and use #BBwedPlans to share your pics with the rest of us!
This week has been all about organising! Jess finally got round to clearing out the storage unit which was literally jammed full of old craft suppliers and projects, some of which are now for sale here. So if you looking for some unique one of a kind items for your hen party, grab them quick before their gone!
Talking of getting organised, I thought it was about high time I got my butt in gear and started planning my own wedding again. I have been putting it off for many reasons, one of which I spoke about here, but I now feel ready to get this show on the road, so first things first I needed to set a budget. Jess helped me out with this so much, she also wrote a post about using Microsoft Office 365 recently which was super helpful, the Excel wedding budget planner will be your new best friend!
We are planning on tying the knot in Mexico so technically our wedding will also be our honeymoon, however I would still like to do a separate honeymoon at some point and have been researching some of the best honeymoon destinations, when I came across this post on Bermuda!
We have spent so much researching where in Mexico we would like to get married and think we have finally settled on Tulum, but I found this post on Sayulita and thought it looked so beautiful, I could have easily been swayed to change my mind, AGAIN!
Naturally, when talking about budgets, I got seriously sidetracked and started looking at dresses. I have always said I would love a Chotronette gown but felt like I was in the market for something a little more boho. So, imagine my surprise when I found out that they released a brand new bohemian collection this week! I think I’ve already found the one!
Talking of getting sidetracked, have you given any thought to what you would like to do for your hen party yet? Because I am seriously love to have a slumber party just like this!
And I think our DIY slogan slippers would be the perfect accessory!
If you have time for DIY wedding projects this weekend and your looking for unique way to display flowers that doesn’t cost the earth, check out these handmade bamboo vases, made from recycled tin cans and bamboo place mats.
And finally… If you’re looking for a unique dessert bar that isn’t a sweet cart? How about an ice cream sundae bar?
I hope you’ve enjoyed the first edition of ‘Weekend Wedding Planning’! Don’t forget to share what you’re up to this weekend? We want to hear all about your wedding plans too! Follow along on instagram using #BBWEDPLANS
