Did you know that since the launch of Bespoke Bride in 2011 we have created over 300 DIY’s? Now, that’s alot of time spent researching, designing and making but what really makes it all worth it. is when our readers share photos of their finished projects with us. Those of you that use Pinterest will have seen that their is now an option to mark a pin as ‘tried’, where you can also add comments and pictures of your creations. These can be difficult to spot and we do sometimes miss them which, is why we are now encouraging you to tag us using our hashtag (#BespokeBrideDIY) on Instagram.
However, don’t worry as not all projects are lost in the depths of Pinterest and we have been fortunate enough to save some of your amazing feedback which we would love to share with you today? Over time many of you have asked questions about the difficulty level of our DIY’s and how well the finished versions held up, so we thought you might find our readers experiences useful, starting with what they thought of our Beyonce Lyric Glasses.
This has to be one of my favourite DIY’s of all time! They were so easy to design and make, so we were totally astounded when we become inundated with requests to buy them. These stickers were the very reason we decided to start a shop and the rest is history.
Probably the hardest part of this project is removing the vinyl stickers from the transfer tape, which some of you have mentioned. We agree it can be a bit fiddly but as long as you ensure the glass is dry, free from any bits of dust and room temperature then the stickers should adhere pretty easily.
We recommend rubbing the transfer tape against the glass, pushing down on each letter as you go, then from one corner slowly peel away the tape. If the letters are being particularly stubborn, try using tweezers to hold each letter in place as you peel the tape away. Once it has been fully removed give the letters one more firm rub over and you should be good to go!
One reader who found the letters especially difficult to stick the letters to her glasses, rubbed them with pure alcohol first and found it removed the unseen grease that had been preventing the vinyl from sticking.
So yeah – they can be a bit fiddly but definitely worth it!
Fun Pineapple Floral Arrangement. This is one of the most popular DIY projects that we have ever shared on Bespoke Bride and it continues to be one of most favourite projects, it’s super easy and looks so pretty, you could eat it!
Although, this is a really simple DIY we did make things slightly more difficult for ourselves, using a spoon to remove the flesh from the pineapple instead of coring device, which we have on good authority from our readers, makes the project much quicker.
Once the pineapple was cut the display only lasted a day or two although readers suggested green pineapples might have lasted a little longer than ripe.The spray paint didn’t change the consistency of the flesh but we did find ourt the pineapples started to decay after about two days once painted.
Overall, we thought this was hugely successful project and we couldn’t wait to try out our painted pineapples at Blogcademy London. They were a huge hit, pretty, unique and made wonderful statement decor, perfect for any event!
How Well Do You Know the Bride? Hen Party/ Bridal Shower Game. Always wanting to be more helpful, we designed this free printable game a little over a year ago, to help break the ice, especially helpful if you have a group of friends who don’t all know one another. Our readers told us fun it was to play at their bridal shower, with everyone learned something new about the bride-to-be.
In fact you guys loved it so much we created a whole range of printable hen party and bridal shower games a year later.
Emergency Wedding Kit. This was another of our favourite projects to create! The free printables are so adorable, the whole kit can be put together super quickly and the whole thing could easily be put together for under £20 if you were to minus the perfume? Either way it was a super cute gift for a bride on her wedding day and inspired many of our readers to make their own versions.
Fun Pun Donut Boxes. I wanted to mention these donut boxes, not just because they were a popular project but because we received a comment from a young lady who used the box to take a valentines gift to her class mate. The fact that our DIY’s are useful for all age groups, not just those of you getting married, really does make us happy!
Floral Bunny Ears. We wondered how many of you would try this project as it was one of our more difficult DIY’s however that didn’t stop you trying it and we loved seeing your photos of you wearing your bunny ears.
Mini Heart Pinata. Can you believe it’s been over 3 years since we shared these mini heart Pinata’s on our blog? Although slightly time consuming we were so happy when our readers told us they found them super cute and easy to make. Since then our love of Pinata’s has quite literally grown and we will continue to come up with new and interesting ways to incorporate them into our wedding day DIY’s.
