WEEKEND WEDDING PLANNING: EEEEK! YOU’RE ENGAGED

Although I’m on a month long wedding planning ban, it doesn’t mean I can’t help you guys with your own plans this weekend.

It feels like soooooo long ago since I got engaged but I still remember it like it was yesterday. It will forever go down as one of the best days of my life and I will never forget it. This week, I got to relive a teeny tiny bit of that excitement as I found out that one of my best friends boyfriends was planning on proposing and he wanted me, to help him make it special. I had the job of helping him find an engagement ring and I can tell you, that I now have some idea of just how much pressure our other halves must feel when it comes to planning that perfect proposal.

First, there’s keeping the whole thing a secret in the first place. I found this particularly hard as she is one of my best friends and I naturally wanted to tell her everything. Ever since I found out, I’ve been feeling like I’m going to burst, so I can only imagine how hard it is to keep a secret like that from your soulmate. Then there’s finding out ring sizes without them realizing what your up to. I mean come on who knows anything about ring size? I don’t even know what size clothes I need half the time! And don’t even get me started on the proposal, there’s so much pressure to do it better than everyone else!

Based on all that alone I don’t envy those of you whose job it is/was to propose, but at the same time I think its an extremely brave thing to do… and at least now, I’ll have somebody else’s wedding to help plan!
