This Colorful Family Farm Wedding In The Cornish Countryside Is a Biscuit Lovers Dream!
Isobel and Chris wanted a total blank canvass for their wedding day, so having it on the family farm seemed the perfect choice. And a blank canvas it certainly was consisting of a field, a cow shed and all in the middle of the Cornish countryside.
“We planned our wedding in 15 months. My trusty notebook was vital with many lists, jobs for each month as well as drawings of how we wanted things to look. My family were crucial in the ‘getting wedding ready’ as we were having it at their farm we had a lot of ‘reorganising’ to do in the cowshed as well as building a set of steps for our guests to get to the ceremony!”
“Having the wedding on the farm did mean that we worried about the weather and we did have thoughts of cars getting stuck in the mud as well as people! But we planned for the worst case scenario and had back up plans just in case. We were really lucky and the September rain did hold off until just before home time.”
“We wanted our wedding to be colourful, bright, fun and quirky! We also wanted it to reflect us and include what we love – biscuits, cakes, great music, games and even a raffle all alongside lots of colour in the form of ribbons, streamers and confetti cannons!”
“We are so lucky to have so many talented friends and family. My Mum grew all the flowers for the bouquets in her garden, a friend made the wine, a work friend made the wedding cake and an artist friend designed our wedding invitations.”
“Inspired by Pinterest and wedding blogs, we made a screen from a recycled garden fence, painted it and covered it in paper pin wheels and ribbons for a backdrop for both our ceremony and as a photo booth. We made a huge biscuit box for our table planner and drew colourful pictures of our favourite biscuits to go on the tables. We had many crafting nights with friends making paper pom poms and any left over paper was cut up to use as confetti. My Dad was also great at teaching us many wood work skills along the way!”
“Looking back we wish we had someone film the speeches to look back on but the photos we have definitely bring back the laughs and smiles. But my best advice for other couples who are planning a wedding would be to just go with what you want and not what other people want, it is your wedding day.. Even if you have some crazy out there ideas… just go for it!”

The Charm of a Farm Wedding in the Cornish Countryside
There’s something utterly enchanting about a Farm Wedding In The Cornish Countryside. The rustic charm, the serene landscapes, and the timeless romance of Cornwall’s rolling fields make it a dream setting for any couple.
Authenticity and Natural Beauty
One of the reasons I adore the idea of a Farm Wedding In The Cornish Countryside is the authenticity it brings. There’s no need for over-the-top decorations or elaborate settings because nature provides all the beauty you need. Imagine exchanging vows under a canopy of ancient oaks, with a gentle breeze rustling the leaves. The natural beauty of the Cornish countryside, with its patchwork of fields and picturesque farmhouses, creates a stunning canvas for your special day. It’s a setting that allows you to embrace simplicity while still feeling incredibly luxurious.
Versatility and Personal Touches
Another delightful aspect of a Farm Wedding In The Cornish Countryside is the versatility it offers. You can have a charming barn reception, complete with fairy lights and rustic decor, or an outdoor ceremony under a canopy of trees. The options are endless, from whimsical wildflower bouquets to farm-to-table catering featuring local Cornish delicacies. This setting allows for a celebration that feels personal and unique, reflecting the couple’s personality and love story.
When my best friend decided on a Cornish farm wedding, we spent weeks planning unique touches, like custom-made cider from a local orchard and handpicked wildflowers for the tables. The result was a wedding that felt genuinely ‘them’ – authentic, heartfelt, and deeply personal.
The Experience and Atmosphere
Having attended a Farm Wedding In The Cornish Countryside, I can attest to the magical atmosphere it creates. The sense of tranquillity and connection to nature adds a special touch to the celebration. Guests can wander through meadows, enjoy the company of farm animals, and dance under the stars. It’s an experience that feels both timeless and unforgettable, offering memories that will be cherished forever.
One of the most surprising and delightful moments was when a herd of sheep casually wandered past the reception area – it was an unexpected photo opportunity that added a touch of whimsy to the day.
Pros and Cons
While the charm of a Farm Wedding In The Cornish Countryside is undeniable, it’s essential to consider both the pros and cons. On the plus side, the natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere create a unique and romantic setting. The cost can also be more affordable compared to traditional venues, especially if you’re willing to DIY many elements.
However, rural settings can pose logistical challenges, such as transportation for guests and unpredictable weather. When planning, it’s crucial to have a backup plan for inclement weather and ensure there are adequate facilities for all guests.
Reflecting on the Symbolism
Symbolically, a farm wedding can represent growth, fertility, and the nurturing of new beginnings. Just as crops grow and thrive in the fertile Cornish soil, so too can a marriage flourish in the nurturing environment of a farm. This connection to the land and the cycles of nature can add a deeper layer of meaning to the celebration.
My Personal Takeaway
From my experience, a Farm Wedding In The Cornish Countryside is more than just a beautiful event; it’s a celebration of love that embraces simplicity, authenticity, and the charm of the countryside. It’s about creating memories that are as enduring as the timeless landscapes of Cornwall. So, if you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s both unique and deeply personal, consider saying ‘I do’ in the heart of the Cornish countryside – it’s a decision you won’t regret.
