WE’RE DREAMING OF SUMMER WITH THESE DIY WATERMELON PLATES
Anyone else SO READY for Spring and summer right now?! We’ve had more snow in the UK than I can ever remember and they’re telling us we could be due more in a couple of weeks! Instead of pondering on that I choose to dream of warm summer days that I’m hoping are right around the corner! So if you’re feeling tropical and fruity too then we’ve got just the tropical DIY for you! These watermelon plates couldn’t be easier to make and really pack a punch on your table! They’re great to use as decoration with smaller plates placed on top or you could even use them as place settings with your guest’s names placed up on them! Here’s how to make your own…
YOU WILL NEED:
STEP 1:
Cut semi circles out of the pink vinyl and thin arches out of the green vinyl. Depending on how many plates you’re making and how big they are will depend how many you need to cut out, I used 12-13 watermelons per plate.
STEP 2:
Stick the green vinyl to the pink vinyl to form the base of the watermelons.
STEP 3:
Using your black Sharpie, draw small pips onto the pink section of the watermelons.
STEP 4:
Finally, stick the pink vinyl down onto the plastic plates, varying the direction of them as you go. I cut a few in half too to place around the edges. Once the plate is filled with melons, move onto the next plate and keep going until they’re all full of fruit!
