MAKE THIS FUN RAINBOW PIÑATA

Our love of rainbows knows no bounds! If you’re planning to throw a colour-filled party, then look no further, this rainbow piñata just hits all the right spots. A big piñata does take some time and patience, but if you’re looking for a quick piñata fix, check out our 10-minute Paper Plate Rainbow Piñatas too!
YOU WILL NEED:
- Tissue Paper (in colours of your choice)
- PVA glue
- Glue stick
- Heavy duty thick tape
- Cardboard (A3 size)
- Scissors
- Glue Gun
STEP 1:
Cut lengths of tissue paper into strips 3m wide. Fringe down the size about 3/4 way through with scissors. You can cut a few strips of each colour to start and see if you need more later on.
STEP 2:
Print out the piñata template into your desired size (The one photographed is in A3 size) by scaling it on your printer settings. Cut out the shapes and draw the outline onto your pieces of cardboard.
STEP 3:
Attach together according to the corresponding sides on the template with heavy duty thick tape to construct the rainbow shape. Cut out the shape of the flap and two holes on it, marked on the template to create the opening to fill it with sweets.
STEP 4:
Cover any gaps with tissue paper and PVA glue to make the “weak spots” for the piñata so that the sweets can fall out when bashed.
STEP 5:
Cover the rainbow with colours! Start with lining the bottom (violet, as shown) strip with your glue stick, working your way up to the top of the rainbow. Each fringe should cover over the previous fringe slightly
STEP 6:
When the rainbow is covered entirely, fill it with sweets. String a ribbon through the two holes created in the top flap, and use hot glue to glue shut.
