Wedding For The Weekend: A Mother of The Bride’s Story…
Things are being told a little bit differently in this love story of Corinne and Zach…Not only did Mariel Hannah photograph this couple’s big day beautifully, but Corinne’s mother tells all about their love and wedding through her eyes…
“I guess you could say it all started June 1994 when I had a beautiful baby girl. Growing up, Corinne and I have always been close. As she got into those “dating” years, her Dad and I always told her to have fun but to remember he must be worthy of you! She just never found anyone “worthy of her”. Three years ago, Corinne was at her brothers house and there was a young man on the couch playing video games.”
“He really didn’t grab her attention but he noticed her. Come to find out, that young man was my sons girlfriends best friend. As time passed, they spoke while she went to visit her brother and they too became friends.”
“One day, my daughter came through the door and announced she was going on a date with Zach… I said, the Zach that’s always at your brothers? Her answer was yes. When she came home that night, she was beaming and said”he’s the one, he’s worthy of me”. She just fell head over heels.”
“Soon Zach became a regular fixture at our home and we fell head over heels as well. When Zach came to my husband and I to ask for her hand in marriage, we couldn’t have been happier. If we could have hand picked a life partner for our Daughter, it would have been Zach. August 3, 2012 Zach recreated their first date and had a tag for Corinne’s dog made that read “Will you marry me?”. Of course she said yes.”
“Zach joined the United States Air Force in September and a wedding date was planned for his Christmas break. Away we went to planning. Together with my Daughter, who is my best friend, we had a fabulous journey. Wedding dress exactly what she wanted. Miles of driving to fine rare vintage china. Zachs mom had boxes of vintage mason jars that we wrapped with lace for candles. Corinne is our only daughter so, we wanted her to have the wedding she dreamed of… and she did.”
“As Zachs homecoming got closer, the excitement in our house was out of control . What she didn’t know is he was coming home a day earlier than he told her. What a wonderful surprise, an early gift for Christmas.”
“December 27, 2012!!! The day is here. I have never seen a bride more calm and cool on the day of her wedding. Hair and make-up was first with her maid of honor and bridesmaids then off to the location. My mother and I helped her into her dress and final details were taken care of. She looked amazing! During my serene time with my baby, the venue was set-up to perfection and everything and everyone was in place and ready to go.”
“Dad had decided he didn’t want to see her until he was going to walk her down the aisle. What an awesome thing to witness. Dad saw his baby become a beautiful woman about to marry the man of her dreams.”
“After a beautiful wedding & fun filled reception, it was time for them to leave. Corinne had arranged for a vintage car to drive them to the hotel. They headed out husband & wife as friends and family showered them with bubbles.”
“In the midst of the whirlwind of a wedding day, Mariel managed to capture the love and happiness of my baby girls wedding day.
Two days later, the newlyweds were off to Texas (which is a long way for this mom).
Happy as they could be, love as strong as ever, blissful in their lives. What more could I ask for.”
We love this story so much and it’s so refreshing to hear it from a mothers point of view! What a beautiful and heartfelt day they had.
We wish both Corrine and Zach all the best.
Much Bespoke Love
