DESIGNING EMILY’S SAVES THE DATES + GRAB YOURSELF THE FREE TEMPLATE!

Hey guys! I thought I’d jump on here today and share a little insight into the next stage of Emily’s wedding planning! I’d like to say it feels a little odd updating you on this instead of Emily but that just wouldn’t be true ha! As I’m sure you can imagine I have been loving being involved with all the wedding planning and decor dreaming, so when Emily asked me if I would design their Save The Dates of course I jumped at the chance! Emily is all about minimalism and luckily for me already had a Pinterest board of ideas that she loved! We knew something simple would be best and suit hers and Matthew’s style.

Em knew that she wanted there to be a photo of the two of them on the front of their save the dates, (you know us, we’re all about making your wedding as personalised to you as possible!) So first we took engagement photos at their wedding venue, Mounton Brook Lodge that we could use, you can read all about that shoot and more about their wedding venue here!

Once we had the photos and the design was complete it was time to get and order the stationery! We opted for Printed.com since we use them for our own stationery in the BB Shop so knew the quality was excellent! We ordered them in a size A6, they cost us £40 including delivery!

One of our favourite things about Printed is that they offer an option to print more than one variation of your design, meaning if you’re like Em and couldn’t decide which photo was her favourite to have on the front of the save the date then you didn’t have to choose! We were able to print 5 different variations of the invites and it was fun mailing different designs out to different guests!

And the best news is if you’re looking at these save the dates thinking you would LOVE them yourself then you guess what? We’re releasing the design as a free printable! Woop! You can download the template here which is an editable PDF, meaning you can simply change the date and upload your own photo! To do so you’ll need to make sure you’ve got the latest adobe acrobat installed on your computer as it’s the only way to edit them. Sadly the files can’t be edited on chromebooks, tablets or phones either so you’ll need to make sure you’ve got access to a computer/laptop.

Once you’ve downloaded the template and Adobe acrobat it’s as easy as editing the text (On aMac: Highlight text and press Command-E to edit. On a PC: Highlight text and press Ctrl-E to edit). You’ll need to convert the image (or images) that you want to use on the invite to a PDF, if you don’t have the software then don’t worry you can use this handy website! Once you’ve added your image to the document, simply save the file and print at home or like we’ve recommended earlier in the post, at Printed.com! We hope you love them as much as we do! xx
