How To Plan an Engagement Proposal: Must-Know Tips for the Big Day
SUMMERTIME CITRUS WEDDING IDEAS
As colour obsessed as we are, there’s nothing that evokes the thought of summer more than the colour yellow. It might only be February but with the glorious sunshine we’ve been having here in UK we can’t help but feel like we’ve skipped Spring and gone straight into summer.
“Citrus immediately sparks positive memories, sipping a cocktail with a splash of lime, spritzing on your favorite fruity perfume, enjoying a slice of lemon cake for dessert. For this shoot, we wanted to show how those sunshiney vibes could translate into a modern, ultra-chic indoor wedding!” began photographer, Jade.
“The York Manor’s clean white walls and bright window light were perfect for a vibrant color palette. The table design built off that base with a crisp white table runner, white dinnerware, and milk glass vases. From there, we let the colors run wild.” She explained.
“Oranges, lemon-yellows, deep grapefruit pinks, and dashes of lime greens inspired the color palette, from vivid florals to actual sliced citrus fruits throughout. Arrangements featured bold variants of familiar flowers—carnations, roses, dahlias, and tulips—in a loose-but-structured shape that felt so fresh and modern! The deep natural tones in the wood table and chairs really made the colors pop.”
“Crystal glasses, clear acrylic candle holders, and pale pink candles add different levels of height for visual appeal without distracting whilst the dessert table featured two cakes—one single-tier and one double-tier—plus lemon berry cupcakes. Each cake had a unique watercolor effect and was accented with extra tulips and roses from the florals.”
“Each plate was topped with a hexagonal acrylic place card with the guest’s handwritten name. As a bonus, glass bottles of lemonade served as both decorative touches and easy refreshments for guests.”
“The bride’s two-piece dress had elaborate lace sleeves and a full tulle skirt. She wore it two ways, wearing a dramatic scalloped veil for a formal ceremony look and swapping in a crystal headband and real flower choker for a more playful reception style. For a mismatched look without getting messy, the bridesmaids dresses stuck within the color palette and shared a similar a-line silhouette.”
I keep looking at the floral arrangements and those candles! I might be using this as inspiration for my own wedding tables – haha! I can’t wait to start working on the decor.
