ROMANY GYPSY BRIDAL INSPIRATION TO INSPIRE YOUR OUTDOOR WEDDING
Summer is the perfect time to get married. Even better is getting married outdoors in the beautiful sunshine surrounded by nature. If that sounds like your type of wedding then check out this bohemian inspired shoot, full of inspiration for couples that love the outdoors, who embrace the season of summer, a couple who want a relaxed yet quirky wedding with all the family…..including their animals! It’s full of vibrant colours, horses, and a little bit of Romany magic!
“The idea was born from wanting to create a shoot based around a beautiful Fressian horse named Gilly, his imposing size and stature lent itself ideally to the Romany gypsy styling with some research and both Vicki and I loving bright and bold colours the theme evolved,” began stylist, Clare.
“The shoot took place at the model and horse owners home in Bishops Waltham Hampshire. We wanted to create a relaxed garden feel to one part of the shoot – if a couple were to recreate the shoot as part of their wedding we wanted to show how this could be achieved with relaxed styling zones within the garden. The second part of the shoot took place down an old disused railway line near to the models home. We imagined this secluded area as a perfect backdrop to be able to take your vows with a macrame backdrop to frame the English Countryside in the Spring,” she explained.
“The colour theme was inspired by the season we were working with, a bright bold colour scheme with oranges, yellows and red’s lent itself to the spring season with some awesome seasonal flowers. I love the idea of couples bringing their whole family into their weddings and I have created flowers for couples that have invited their dogs as ring bearers and have ridden their beloved horses to the church or venue.”
“The flowers created pops of colour and an easy style that we were trying to achieve – with simple tin can vessels and wild and free foliage. I was so pleased to be able to use yellow, oranges and red in a bridal shoot – they are such beautiful, happy colours which to me is what Weddings should be all about!” Clare added.
“I loved how the cake and the first dress we used had an orange tinge to both of them, along with the leather bouquet holder that wrapped the first bouquet – these items brought everything together perfectly! The macrame backdrop worked so beautifully to frame the countryside and the two piece trouser suit was a moment when all the vendors stopped and went ‘wow’! It was so stylish and relaxed, it fitted the scheme perfectly.”
“I felt so blessed that so many wonderful Wedding suppliers agreed to help make this shoot a success but because I wanted to make the horse a real centre piece of the shoot I needed to think outside the box of Wedding industry suppliers, I contacted Debbie from DC custom leather designs who created a beautiful bridle and other leather accessories for the horse and the model! I loved how the bridle stood out among Gilly’s foliage garland that he so proudly wore!”
“And finally it goes without saying that Vickis photography is outstanding – her attention to detail and colour popping shots were just the cherry on top of the cake – her style is so vibrant and original we couldn’t have wished for anyone else to express the colour and style vibes we were going for!”
