SUPER COOL SEASIDE WEDDING INSPIRATION
Today’s wonderful wedding inspiration is coming at you all the way from beautiful sunny Brighton!! The perfect choice of location in terms of backdrop, with its big stretch of coast, the amazing Pier and colourful beach huts, to compliment the excitement and joy of being married! There is so much to see and do and who wouldn’t want to get married by the sea?
“The theme of the shoot was Vintage English Seaside, with a colourful and fun twist.” Began Jade, videographer at Hushabye Fims.”I knew I wanted a glamorous almost Vegas-esque dress for the shoot and Lucy Can’t dance was the obvious choice with her quirky and beautiful dresses. When I saw her ‘Moonshine’ dress I knew that would be the perfect fit. It shimmered in the Brighton sunshine and was literally stopping traffic wherever we went. It was slinky and glamorous but also looked super cool with her blue shoes. The beaded headers was a bespoke creation by Love From Becky and the pink fedora, with faux flowers, was also a handmade creation for the shoot.”Flash Kate MUA gave the bride a beautiful bold red lip to go with the glamorous feel of the shoot, but added some super cute faux freckles for the playful summery element. I wanted the dress and make-up to be quite glamorous against the playful backdrop of the pier,” She explained.
“There were a couple of gorgeous tousled hair styles by Belles Beauty, the first being a summery loose wave with the head dress and the second a messy side fishtail plait to go under the bride’s hat. Again to add to the relaxed and playful style of the shoot. Love From Becky created 2 bespoke pieces for the shoot which worked beautifully. The first was a handmade festival style beaded crown in white pearls and tassels, to go with the seaside theme. Our bride looked like a mermaid with her shimmering dress and pearl crown. The hat was a gorgeous pink fedora decorated with stunning silk flowers which matched the florals by Thistle By Nature perfectly. Whilst, Sash and Veil provided 2 stunning veils for the shoot, one being an extra long soft ombre pink veil worn over the top of a shorter golden one to add to the air of playfulness, whilst remaining stylish and luxe.”
“We loved the oversized leopard print bow tie for the groom, contrasting perfectly with his pastel pink shirt and colourful buttonhole. The braces added a cheeky edge to his look and his fedora finished off his seaside wedding outfit perfectly, giving him the modern groom look. There was definitely a pastel vibe going on with the beautiful blue of the sky and sea, the pink of the candy floss, the brides pink hat and the groom’s pink shirt.”
“The brides fabulous bouquet by Thistle By Nature was summery and bold. Emma wanted to create something bright and unapologetic for the shoot, an ode to the colourful city of Brighton and something that would also match the personality of this playful couple. Always keeping things a little off beat and organic she used tall foxtail lilies to create lines that would respond well to the camera. Summery Calendulas, alliums and snapdragons joined the show supporting first of the season coral charm peonies.”
“Fleur De lace created the super cute beach hut area with mirror balls, glitter beach balls and a Kiss Me Quick sign! Coupled with the deckchairs and gorgeous seafront, the scene was perfectly set for our bride and groom to enjoy. Glitter, deckchairs and Kitsch Beach Hut galore all brewed in this seaside cauldron of a shoot and bubbled with disco Balls! There were so many super fun elements for a venue Stylist like Alice to work with. With our couple enjoying the proper British outdoors, rekindling memories of bare foot paddling and humming tiddly om pom pom, we just popped in a touch of sparkle. Alice always hopes that the styling of a shoot will inspire the reader (you!) in someway, maybe adding a sprinkling of glitter balls or some cool sparkly words to your special day,” Jade told us.
“Nicki Shea Photography wanted to reflect a free spirited, fun loving couple making the most of their seaside dream wedding. Her images scream “we did this our bloody way and flipping loved it! And our video was all about creativity, fun and colour as well as the love for the faded glamour of the British Seaside. The fast pace of the cuts to the music recreates the joyful experience of the day, and immediately draws you in as soon as you watch it.”
“I created this whole shoot to show couples why it’s so important to do your wedding your way. Whilst there are plenty of people that love dark, moody and posed shots there are also LOADS of us that cringe at the thought of being overly romantic and cheesy in front of the camera. Weddings are FUN and myself and photographer Nicki Shea, LOVE to focus and capture that element. We love a snog or two of course we do, but we also love personality and how the couple interact with one another. When couples get in touch they first say they are so glad they found me and second – we just don’t do cheesy romance! So this shoot is for these guys!” she added.
“Recreate this look by not just keeping confetti for with your guests! I always bring one or two confetti canons with me to use with just the couple. Smoke grenades too are also awesome for this. Think outside the box – flower crowns are amazing, but what about a detailed beaded headpiece or a decorated hat with flowers fitting your theme? Wear a bold red lip on your wedding day. Why should you change your look and tone things down just because you’re getting married??? Guys are having much more fun with their looks these days too. Shorts with braces are super cute for a beach wedding and a fedora hat is so cool.”
“We all thoroughly enjoyed all the fun and games on the Palace Pier, eating candy floss and messing around on the carousel. We also loved the urban part of the shoot, finding cool street-art back drops and an old school fish and chip shop. We ended the day in the quiet part of Hove at our pink beach hut, where we watched the sun go down to the sound of the gentle waves!!”

Nicki Shea did an incredible job photographing this shoot. I love the fun she captured and the bride’s mermaid inspired wedding dress. This whole post has me smiling ear to ear.
