HOW TO USE ‘LIVING CORAL’, PANTONE’S COLOUR OF THE YEAR FOR 2019 AT YOUR WEDDING
This years Pantone colour has to be my favourite so far, I’m literally obsessed with ‘Living Coral’. So obsessed, that I chose it as the main colour for my own wedding this year. As soon as I saw the picture above, I knew I was going to instantly fall in love with this Mango themed wedding inspiration and I know you will too!
“First of all, I’m Caribbean so I loooveee mangos!” Began creative director and lead photographer, Jen.
“The shoot was inspired by a fun and bright perspective on Pantone’s color of the year, combined with the simple yet rustic vibe of blooming florals and fresh mangos. My goal was to promote upcoming wedding trends while including a diverse group of models. Some of my most favorite details from this shoot includes the vellum invitation suite and calligraphy on our mango place settings, our bridesmaid’s floral arrangement on her motorized chair, the florists gorgeous octagon floral arch, and the custom designed ombre cape designed by a New York Fashion Week designer.”
“I wanted all the details to pop and the vendor’s works to really shine through, so I planned for solid patterns for our models. With Coral being a popular, but common color in the wedding industry, I wanted to give it some new life by adding in the oranges, yellows, and touches of pink, combining it with fruit inspiration.”
“The models in this shoot are a real married couple who have been together for 7 years. Andrew and Jasmine’s romance was the perfect vibe for our palette. I also wanted to include another dear friend, Jessica, as the bridesmaid. As a person who uses a motorized chair, she’s felt unseen and overlooked in the wedding industry. Our florist was thrilled to provide her with a gorgeous floral attachment for her chair,” explained Jen.
“As the creative director for this shoot, I wanted to be intentional to bring in trend-setting concepts from talented local vendors with real people who can see themselves as inspirational! With simple tricks like incorporating fresh fruit in the decor, and encouraging vendors to think outside the box,” she added.
“I knew I wanted the best in the business to contribute to this shoot so I made sure to search for some top professionals who were open to the concept of the shoot.” Jen told us.
“I remember having a conversation with the cape artist and asking her to consider what it would look like make an ombre wedding cape and she was all for it! Angela actually was showcasing this for New York Fashion Week and we had the honor of modeling this one of a kind creation for the shoot!”
“Even thinking outside the box with our calligrapher to create eye-catching place settings by writing the names on the mangos and including a vellum overlay and watercolor invitation suite, that was really fun! Our florist and makeup and hair artists all came together to bring bright and bold colors and styles that really gave our styled shoot life! ”
“One thing to take away from this inspiration is that less is more so you don’t necessarily have to incorporate so many different details and so many different things. With this simplistic style and solid color scheme, you really get to choose what elements you want to stand out on your day!
