3 SIMPLE YET STYLISH WAYS TO DISPLAY YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS AT HOME WITH SNAPBOOK
I love taking photos, I love being in photos, I love seeing photos but as someone who prefers a minimal living space, I rarely display photos in fear it will make my home feel a little too cluttered. It doesn’t usually bother me, I look at photos on my phone all the time and I have a couple of albums hidden away for older memories but as soon as our photographer Vicky sent the sneak peeks from our wedding, I just knew I had to have a few of my favorites up in our home and stat!
As I embrace this new found love of photographs, I wanted to share with you three simple yet stylish ways to display photos that don’t make a space feel too cluttered and are also quick and easy.
If you’ve been putting photos up in your home forever then the decisions that come with putting photos up in your house are probably like second nature. However for someone whose never had a photo up in her entire adult life, making photo based decisions is HUGE.
First, I had to decide what size I wanted the photos, were they all going to be the same or different sizes and if so how many of each size would look good? Next, did I want photos dotted around the house on bedside tables, window ledges or side cabinets or would it be less overwhelming if I dedicated an entire space to a wider selection of images? Decisions, Decisions?
After much deliberation I decided it would probably be best to have 90% of the images in one space, that way I wouldn’t feel like they were cluttering the entire house. I also decided that I wanted the main display to be in our living room, although we do spend most of our time there, it’s a large, airy room with loads of natural sunlight so could handle the display. It’s also where we also do a lot of entertaining, so I felt like I was ready for that room to have a bit more ‘us’ in it.
Next, I headed to the Snapbook App to get my photos printed. Snapbook is a photo printing app, that let’s you effortlessly print special moments directly from your phone without the time-consuming process of transferring the photos and visiting photo studios to print them. I opted for prints, (because you know, one step at a time) and a selection of retro prints but you can choose from a wide variety of printed items and is also a great way to customize gifts such as photo books, phone cases, posters, T-shirts, mouse pads and metal wall prints. The ordering process was simple, I just chose the size print I wanted, then ‘created’ the photo by simply uploading images from my phone using the editor. You can upload multiple images at a time if needed and preview the image before sending it to your cart. The app is super simple to use and I’d highly recommend it for it’s ease of use and accessibility.
When the prints arrived I was amazed at the quality, not a single grainy photo insight. I couldn’t wait to put them on display!
I decided on a photo shelf for our living room (it’s been done a million times I know but if it isn’t broke?), a single dry flower pressed frame for our bedroom and something a little more experimental in my office – an Instagram photo gallery style wall grid.
The photo shelf was an instant hit, myself and Mr T loved it from the offset, but the dry flower pressed photo frame for our bedroom has to be my favourite. I had loads of dry flowers left over from the wedding and I wanted to do something with them at home, so the pressed frame idea along with a photo of my bouquet seemed like the perfect keepsake from our wedding.
And then there was the Instagram photo gallery inspired grid wall. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, but it totally suits the space and I often find myself staring at the wall, reliving the most amazing memories of our big day. I also adore the pink retro prints, you can get them in a selection of other pastel colours too but I went for pink because it matched the theme of our wedding and it makes even the slightly darker photos pop.
I think it’s fair to say, I’m slowly coming round to the idea of displaying photos in our home. Who know’s next time, I might have house full of them! I highly recommend printing your photos using the Snapbook App, it’s SUPER quick AND they are also offering our readers 10% off your first order using SNAPBB10 at checkout, the code is valid until 9th April 2020.
