Let us Guide you – Lighting your Wedding Reception
Good Evening All,
We have been asked this week to inspire you a little in how to use light at your wedding reception…………
Picture it now……. Walking into the reception venue and being greeted by a warm fuzzy glow or a cool lit room, but very often this isn’t the case. So many reception venues are too dark and rely solely on the lights from the disco to light the entire room, not the best atmosphere for your family and friends to socialise in?
Lighting at the wedding reception isn’t something many give much thought too, as it is something you generally rely on the venue to sort out, however it really can set an atmosphere and create effect.
Candles are a great way to light a small area and can completely change a room when used in abundance. Of course some venues can be a little sketchy over the idea of hundreds of naked flames so you can always consider small votives.
Fairy lights are an excellent touch when adding decorative lighting to a venue making any room feel romantic. If you don’t have the budget for thousands of fairy lights streaming across the ceiling then it is possible to include them in the centre pieces. Many florists now use them in their table displays as a way of adding extra sparkle.
If you have the budget it is also possible to hire a lighting specialist, who will help you choose the correct colours in order to compliment your wedding colours or theme. They will also be able to determine the best types of lighting to highlight the room’s best accents.
It is important to remember the lighting that you choose can be determined by your theme so look out for our next ‘let us guide you’ feature which will hopefully set you on your way to planning the decoration for your reception.
Lots of Bespoke Love
