A MODERN ART INSPIRED ENGAGEMENT DINNER
Growing up art was my favourite subject in school, I used to love learning about all of the different styles and different artists and now that I’m older I still absolutely love it, visiting art museums is something I definitely do not do often enough! I always find myself very drawn to abstract modern art, I love minimalist paintings with big pops of colour, something dramatic that demands the attention of the room! So, as you can imagine when this art inspired engagement dinner dropped into our inbox I immediately fell in love with it, it ticks all of my boxes from the beautiful florals to the dramatic backdrop and every detail in between! Be sure to check out the fun behind the scenes video at the end too…
“Our inspiration for this shoot started with an illustration we stumbled upon while brainstorming ideas. As designers and planners, we pull much of our inspiration from art itself, so it only made sense that we would produce a styled shoot based on Modern Art.”
“The color palette for which we decided to go with was white, blue, and orange. Contrasting yet complementary colors . In order to keep the modern aesthetic, we gravitated toward minimalistic details. Our colors were meant to be used as accents to the stark white, a way to draw the viewers eyes to something deliberate. We played with paint splatters on our custom art piece, cakes and desserts, menus and invitations, and added colorful shapes to our table backdrop to add drama.”
“The culmination of each vendor’s artistry resulted in what we would like to call ” A Modern Art Inspired Engagement Dinner”. We hope that our vision sparks inspiration for anyone planning a special event, and our photos can live on their Pinterest boards as reference for their next creative endeavor. We believe that taking aspects of our shoot can easily be implemented into a real event. Although this was artfully done with only aesthetics in mind, all the elements are still subtle enough to where it can flow into any clean and modern design scheme.”
