ROCK N ROLL x DIA DE LOS MUERTOS FUSION WEDDING
When thinking of a colour scheme for the Bespoke Bride, we knew because of our love of bright and airy photography and weddings with pops of colour that we’d want to incorporate these into our brand. What didn’t come to mind? Black. But contrary to what you might think, I actually love the colour black, it’s a staple colour in my wardrobe and it’s quickly becoming one of my favourite colours when incorporated into a wedding. It can work in so many themes from moody to boho and art deco to minimalist. Today’s wedding in Berlin has totally inspired me to see black in a different way, paired with the one of my favourite Mexican holidays, Dia de Los Muertos – the colours in the brides floral crown pop against her black wedding dress just as they would if she’d worn white, resulting in a moody, yet colourful and fun celebration that I just can’t get enough of! Plus, check out the skull wedding cake!
“Daniela & Thomas wanted to have a location, that wasn’t a ‘normal’ wedding location,” began wedding planner Svenja.
“They had free wedding ceremony in an old circus tent then partied afterwards at the Berlin club – a cool, urban rockabilly venue in the middle of Berlin. It fit perfectly!”
“We love the Latino feeling and understanding of life and happiness. So, Svenja and I came up with dia de los muertos and we mixed it with myself and Thomas’ love of rock n roll, psychobilly.” Daniela told us.
“It was happy, loud and without any conventions. We didn’t even have a table plan because we wanted everybody to feel free and easy. We had a a barbecue and the band started early – it was more of a concert feeling,” she explained.
“All the decoration was DIY even the 1,80m high Skeleton which took months to create!” added wedding planner, Svenja.
“Plan YOUR wedding, not what other people expect yours to be!” Daniela advised.
“Invite just the people you love, with whom you want to be around – don’t hesitate not to invite people who don’t support you.”
