THIS WEDDING PLANNER & WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER GOT ENGAGED AND THE PARIS PHOTOS ARE EPIC!
When a wedding planner and wedding photographer get engaged you just know the photos from the shoot are gonna be GOOD, throw Paris in the mix and you’ve got something EPIC! Be sure to read their adorable love story of how they met at the end of the post too (It includes working at the same wedding, being in a dumpster at one point AND the DJ being in on the crush one had on the other!) ADORBS.
“Once upon a time, several years ago, Lauren (The Wedding Planner) was setting up a wedding in a small town near the Texas Gulf Coast. Out of her usual area, she wasn’t super familiar with all of the vendors she would be working with that day, but eager to take on the task. As she was perfecting the dessert table set up, a blonde rounded the corner and beelined over to her to introduce herself. Unbeknownst to Jessica (the blonde who just entered), her entrance into the room was like a movie scene playing out in her head as this hot chick walks in in slow mo with the wind blowing her hair (even though she had a ponytail and no studio lighting). As she approached Lauren, she introduced herself, and her team, as the photographers and cinematographers for the event and if she (Lauren) needed anything, they were there to help. Although eyes met across the room all night, there was no magic that happened that night, just a new facebook friend to add to the long list of people we all just kind of know. See, they were both in a relationship and the timing was just not right.”
“Fast forward 2 years, the universe had a plan. Lauren (the wedding planner) and Jessica (the wedding photographer) got another shot at it. Another bride chose them both (probably because they are badass!) to make their wedding dreams come true. They didn’t even realize they were going to be working together until a couple days before the wedding. Lauren knew going into the day of the wedding that Jessica would be there for this event, personally and not just her shooters, and was SUPER nervous about Jessica and her team arriving all day. DJ arrived before Jessica and her team so she warned him that she had a major crush on the photographer and if she was off her game that night, that Jessica was the reason. He laughed and said ok. Then, the doors opened into the dark venue, with the bright light behind her, Jessica walks in again… and again with the music playing and wind in her hair in slow mo (only in Lauren’s mind). However, THIS time, they were less awkward and hugged hello. Then Lauren, aka fumblina, kept dropping things and Jessica kept stopping what she was doing to help her (which is something that she NEVER does, Jessica never even liked planners, ha). Throughout the night, there was a LOT of flirting between the two, even though they were both REALLY sucking at it. The other had no idea there was flirting, just silly banter. UNTIL one really REALLY flirty moment with a cake knife. Lightbulbs turned on in both of their minds and they were both like OOOOOOOOooooohhhhhh.”
“A few minutes later, Lauren ran up to the DJ and said, “OMG, Someone accidentally threw a bunch of my things in the dumpster, buy me some time, I have to get in there and get it out. I need like 10-15 minutes & the DJ, of course, said, ‘I got you girl!’ Lauren dashes off into the dark
towards the dumpster and Jessica goes up to the DJ and asks where the Planner went because they were going to be leaving out soon. DJ then told her that she was out in the dark, IN the dumpster and probably needed help!! (See what he did there??? Wingman of the century!!). Jessica grabs a flashlight and heads out to help Lauren. In those next short 10 minutes, and some really smart ass comments back and forth because Lauren was in a dumpster, a few serious questions were asked and the tables turned from flirting with a stranger to ooohhh, maybe this is BIG!!!”
“Nervous after the dumpster sparks that flew, they finished up the wedding. Jessica left before Lauren (because planners stay until clean up is done and photographers roll out after the exit) and they both were left wondering how in the hell am I going to come up with a reason to call her? Text her? Contact her at all!!! There goes the universe again!!! A bridesmaid had a diabetic episode and left in an ambulance. Lauren messages Jessica a picture of all of the flashing lights and tells Jessica, ‘Dang, you left and missed all of the action for your video’ (jokingly, that would
NEVER be in the video)! And the doors were open!!! That night, they stayed up until the sun came up messaging, then again the next day, and the next day. 5 days later they just couldn’t take it any longer and had to meet for lunch. Best Pizza date of their lives! And despite the garlic breath, an epic kiss goodbye.”
‘Almost one year later and several more weddings together under their belts, Lauren and Jess had become one heck of a wedding team, specializing in SameSex Weddings. And although Lauren and Jessica had taken a few fun trips in their first year together, Lauren had never been
across the pond. They work so hard with their weddings around the clock and day after day, it was time for a vacation to relax and unwind for a bit. With Lauren’s milestone birthday approaching (ugh 40), Jessica thought it was time for her to take a trip bigger than any they had taken before. How is that for bringing in the next decade in life? And as creatives, Lauren is on pinterest with clients all the time and had seen some really epic photos in Paris and told Jessica that she thought it would be really awesome to take some photos in Paris and be on the other side of the lens for a change. She agreed. So the search on Instagram for a photographer began. Then they found Daria and fell in love with her photos. Unbeknownst to Lauren, while they were planning a trip to Paris, Jessica was planning another EPIC event. Their engagement!!! And let me just say… OH. MY. GOD!!! That 12 hour scavenger hunt proposal started with a limo at her door, had several stops throughout the day, picking up another friend at every stop, a gorgeous candlelight proposal followed by a surprise dinner of 50 of their closest friends and family! So that photoshoot they were planning in Paris, just got bumped from a photoshoot to an awesome Engagement PHOTOSHOOT!”
“Jessica had already been to Paris a couple times before but wanted to make sure that Lauren got to see all of the amazing icon Parisian Things she had dreamed of putting her eyes on in person. Outside of their tours and sightseeing, they really leaned on their photographer for suggestions and trusted her knowledge of the city to make sure they got the most stunning photos in the best places. Lauren had a vision of the Eiffel tower with GIANT balloons and an epic trailing dress and a Cafe with a beret (had to be in the culture right?) but the rest was all our photographer’s – Daria’s – ideas and we LOVED all of them!!
