BEAUTIFUL BLUSH PINK BRIDAL INSPIRATION WITH A HAYLEY PAIGE GOWN
Todays bridal inspiration can only be described as a cotton-candy color lover’s daydream! Based entirely around Hayley Paige’s dreamy Fiona gown (it’s lilac and looks pink in certain lighting), the team chose to use ‘blush’ colour as the theme for their creativity and it does not dissapoint.
“The entire Hayley Paige collection is amazing – but if I was getting married tomorrow the Fiona is one of the gowns I would be trying on today, it’s so glittery and the colour is subtle but fun.” Photographer, Victoria began
“When we were choosing our model I knew Olivia would be perfect with her pink hair. Olivia, who acted as both the model AND makeup artist, added some shimmer to her makeup. I told her not to be shy about adding pink and she certainly wasn’t! For her hair Sierra, who is one of my favorites in the industry, wanted to really show off Olivia’s pink hair without taking away from the whimsy and romance of the dress – and she nailed it. Her soft and not over sprayed curls were perfect for complimenting not only her gown and the theme – but her actual face! It’s so important to have a stylist who doesn’t just do hair as if it isn’t actually ON the bride/model – not all looks compliment every person. This look was made for Olivia,” she added.
“I think “Pink” weddings get a bad rep sometimes because people hear that’s the color and automatically assume some kind of 90’s themed Pepto Bismol wedding and that there’s no way it can be classy, pretty, AND mostly pink. When I planned this styled shoot, I asked myself what “I” would have at my wedding if it was me. Pink eyeshadow with some shimmer – check. Pink hair? I totally would. Pops of pink on thecake? Yes please. A pink ring box for the detail shots? Absolutely. The florist would have been able to use that bouquet to also design centerpieces and bridesmaid florals easily.”
“I find basing a colour scheme around your bouquet is a good place to start, you can send the inspiration photos to your hair and makeupartist, your person thats making your stationery, your bridesmaids, your cake artist etc, so that they can coordinate colors. I’ve found that building a styled shoot around the florist’s interpretation of my vision makes planning the rest of it so much easier because there’s a “base line” visual for other vendors to come back to for color reference and to ensure everything flows well.” Victoria advised.
