FLORAL FILLED WEDDING IN ALABAMA WITH THE CUTEST DOG MAID OF HONOR!
Hunter and Allison’s wedding day had no shortage of love and color at an amazing venue that’s charming and quintessentially southern. Even the venue complemented the colorful day with its own pops of vibrance such as the bright pink blooms from the crepe myrtle (a staple tree of the south) and the turquoise iron gate used for Allison’s bridal portraits.
Full of simple yet elegant decor, pops of whimsical color, feminine touches, the cutest flower girl pup, and a couple madly in love, Hunter and Allison’s big day turned out exactly as it was dreamed!
“I visited several venues, but once I visited The Sonnet House, I knew it was the one.” Allison began
“It was located in a central location for both our friends and family, the indoor and outdoor options were exactly what we were looking for and I fell in love with the wedding planners there.”
“I chose my color theme based on ideas I gathered from magazines, blogs, Pinterest, etc. during the first few months of wedding planning. I wanted a color palette that was vibrant and colorful – fun, romantic, and perfect for summer!” She explained.
“The wedding decor was more on the minimalist side with the vibrant florals being the center of attention. The venue is already so gorgeous that it didn’t need much additional decorating. The ceremony took place inside of a chapel located right on site. The arbor was draped with lots of greenery and little pops of color from the vibrant florals. The reception took place directly outside of the chapel. White tables and chairs were set up, each with blush pink tablecloths and colorful florals for centerpieces. Inside of The Sonnet House were the cake displays and several self-serve dinner stations.”
“We actually didn’t do anything DIY. I’m not very crafty, so thankfully the venue had every single piece of décor you would ever need! With that being said, the planning process was a breeze thanks to our venue! The Sonnet House took care of everything: flowers, décor, food, and even every single minute of the wedding day. The overall planning process took right under a year. I booked everything early so that I could focus on the smaller details closer to the wedding date.” Allison told us.
“I had so many visions for my wedding day, as I’m sure every bride does, but the biggest thing I wanted was for the day to be packed full of memories and time spent with family and friends. I wanted everybody to laugh, fellowship, and dance the night away!”
“The wedding day was made even more perfect by including our dog, Baeleigh, as the flower girl. Baeleigh watched the girls get ready in the morning, gave lots of wet kisses during wedding party portraits, and was the sweetest girl all day long!” Allison continued.
“I didn’t really have any “fears” going into the big day but I was nervous about the day flowing smoothly. We both wish we would have taken more time to really enjoy some of our favorite songs on our playlist and dance with our friends during the reception! Of course, you want to speak to everyone who travelled to see you, but I think it’s important to cherish YOUR day and soak up every moment with your significant other before it ends. My advice to future couples and brides-to-be is to slow down, and really enjoy your day! It flies by so fast, and although it was the best day of our lives, we still feel like some of it was a complete blur. Dance to all of your favorite songs, catch up with friends and family, and enjoy every second that you can.”

It’s always heartwarming to see a couple include their pup as a part of their wedding ceremony!
