CALLING ALL VINTAGE SOULS! THIS 1950s THEME ELOPEMENT IS SO MUCH FUN!

Nick and Kassandra love everything vintage! So, when they decided they wanted to elope it wasn’t hard for them to decide to make it their style. These two are not afraid to be themselves in front of the camera and have fun with each other. They paid attention to little details that made their day truly unique. From the vintage C pin on Kassandra’s second dress, to their planting of a bonsai tree during their ceremony, this elopement was exclusive to them.

“When Nick proposed I wasn’t about to wait a year for a wedding.” Kassandra began.

“We set to work and put together our elopement plans in only a few months. To be honest, there wasn’t a lot of planning to do really, especially with the small guest list. All we needed was a place, a time, accommodations, and some delicious food! I think it was probably harder to plan the bachelor/bachelorette weekend than the actual wedding day. My best friend and Matron of Honour, Bonnie, was instrumental in helping me keep a level head, pick up food the day of, and keep everything on track. That said, giving ourselves so little time to plan a wedding is stressful no matter what, but I would say we definitely pulled it off!”

“We really love the Stowe Vermont area and had visited many times. When Nick proposed, it just seemed natural to consider it for our wedding!” Kassandra explained.

“We walked all over Stowe and found a little bend in the pathway at Stowe Recreation Path with the river behind and thought why not get married right here? Of course, there were plenty of other restaurants (Including our favourite Hen of the Wood) and places nearby to fill out the wedding weekend including the cute Airbnb we were able to grab for my pre-ceremony.”

“I believe that Nick and I have vintage souls. Between his love of steam punk and yesterday’s tomorrow (Rocket ships!) and my own penchant for the 50’s and 60’s, it was always going to be a vintage theme. I also wanted to wear a colourful dress over a white one. Although, I did change into a white satin dress later for dinner!” she added.

“I wanted to be relaxed all day. And so, I really spaced everything out. I didn’t really consult anyone. I think, most important to me, was a stopover at our Airbnb with all our guests after the ceremony and before dinner to have our first dance, to chat, to hear speeches . . . Perhaps I should have consulted somebody on the schedule, because we ended up being 40 minutes late to our dinner reservation for various reasons, but Hen of the Wood was very accommodating and I’m appreciative of that!”

“However, I would definitely advise you listen to your professionals! Our photographer Jess had made suggestions, but I just went my own way. I also didn’t realize how heavily trafficked my ceremony spot was going to be, but I guess I should have known that? I think, I got caught up in some small things that didn’t really matter in the end from the balloons to other nagging things. I’d say to anyone that they should try not to sweat the small stuff and remember why you are there in the first place.”
