FUN & COLOURFUL WAYS TO CELEBRATE YOUR WEDDING POST-COVID
Let’s be honest we all need some fun and light heartedness in our lives right now and todays wedding inspiration is just that. Think Coachella vibes – pastels, sequins, flamingos and eccentric outfits. OH! And rainbows, lots and lots of rainbows…
“Developing this concept was a great opportunity to get that back to “normality” feeling”, began Jessica, owner and stylist at The Italian Dream.
“Our ‘Iridescently Drunk in Love’ theme was born from the idea of having fun, melting together sparkles and flamingos to produce a magical result. The concept began during the lockdown I wanted to try and alleviate some of atmosphere of uncertainty that Covid19 has brought with it, especially for couples who have found themselves having to postpone and cancel their weddings.” She told us.
“Even the rainbow curtains were a nod to the rainbows kids have been drawing during lockdown as sign of hope after the pandemic.”
“The main inspiration came from Coachella festival, which – like most of the events in the world, had to be cancelled this year. I wanted to recreate the cheerful party vibe and show couples that they can still have fun, enjoy life and smile even during these tough times.” Jessica explained.
“We set up our shoot in a family-run pub on the outskirts of London as it had a relaxed vibe that we thought young couple might choose for their post Covid19 wedding, focusing only on their love and having LOADS of fun!”
“We had such an amazing team Paloma (Photography by Paloma) and Luke (Luke Batchelor Productions) were able to catch the light-hearted vibe respectively through photos and video – you can breathe amusement from every shot!”
“The amazing iridescent balloons and shiny dried palm leaf installation worked perfectly with the neon signs and matched the gorgeous flower creations perfectly, with a beautiful sweet-tooth colour palette featuring pearly Anthuriums, Eustoma, Roses, Stock, Thistle and the prettiest lilac Fern.
Stationery wise Stacey from Love Paper Co. was able to get straight into my vision with every single design – tassels, iridescent foil and flamingos as a final touch! – whilst Sarah from Photo Press UK made some bespoke newspapers which are such a cool and alternative idea (loved the “I love you like a hipster loves Coachella on the back of them!) for a couple that wants to think outside the box!” Jessica added.
Speaking of bespoke, the bride outfit totally got me in the vibe! The hand painted jacket by Sammy Lea’s Retro Emporium was a total dream which perfectly matched with Ritz and Sass’s Aurora head crown, made from recycled pieces of jewellery for a sustainable vibrant shiny result. Shimmering and glittering was also Samantha’s work (SJB Hair Stylist and Make UP Artist) who was able to recreate a beautiful festival look with gems and sparkles! To complete the bridal look, we had a selection of jewellery branded The Vamoose from the pink shades in a beautiful mix of tassels, stones and light heartedness.”
“Dessert wise we had a stunning 3-tier cake with a colourful game of pastel hexagons by Claire from Sparkles and Swirls, together with customised matching biscuits that gave a unique touch to the table setting along with sparkling glitter lollipops – how sweet is that!”
