THESE WINTER WEDDING IDEAS ARE TRUELY MAGICAL
Today’s inspiration is a dedication to the moody and magical, to the enchanting and ethereal. Fondly themed the ‘Celestial Witch’, this styled shoot was hosted in Blissful Hill in Spicewood, Texas Christi of Crystal Vision Events wanted to create a fine-art, aesthetically gorgeous style for an offbeat or alternative couple with all the incredible details that make an alternative wedding but with a fresh spin.
“The celestial witch angle really spoke to me; it felt like the right time to revitalize the celestial theme and with the overcast winter weather, it was just the perfect time of year for it.” Christi began.
“My main goal for a venue in this shoot was finding a place that had a wall of windows and an expansive outdoor area. Blissful Hill checked all those criteria and was gorgeous. When we got there on an overcast day for the shoot, it just felt like fate had smiled down on us. Austin is a beautiful place to get married because it has an incredible assortment of options, whether you’re feeling an elopement, a big wedding, traditional or alternative, Blissful Hill, is the perfect venue. It has riverfront views (as you can see in the photos with the crescent moon floral arch) and a million gorgeous locations that you and your spouse can sneak off to for a quiet moment and a stellar photo. The indoor area has a wall of windows on the far side facing the riverfront, a full patio, and a dock over the waterfront. Their bridal prep area is a vintage dream with antique mirrors and lovely, little, thoughtful pieces throughout. In addition, they have beautiful farmhouse tables and chairs that come with the venue that are a wedding designer’s dream. You also get both the benefits of the Hill.” She explained.
“So much of this shoot focuses on fine art details that make a wedding, particularly with an unusual theme like this. It was about marrying those details (celestial and witchy/bewitching) in a way that didn’t feel forced, overdone, or trope-ish. If you look closely, a planchette and crystal ball were included as part of the details along with a moon-based oracle deck and Writefully Yours’ incredible minimalist stationery with its beautiful colours and celestial inspiration. A stalk of lavender, geode slide place tags, and a moon-based oracle card graced celestial plates while a dramatic centerpiece with lights intertwined in the florals tied together the tablescape. Each detail was lovingly incorporated and immersed with the theme.”
“This design was such a labor of love that when it came time to it, there were specific vendors that were required to make this shoot a reality. Luna Moth Flowers, Cakes Rocks, Silk and Glow Beauty…all were such a critical part of making this shoot a reality. I created specific mood boards for florals, the cake, and hair and makeup, but am lucky enough that I can trust those vendors to take the vibe and the mood boards and completely run with them those ideas in a way that creates something very much in keeping with our look and theme while being able to embrace their own creativity.” Christi told us.
“A couple can take away inspiration in that they can use beautiful details that are very much the couple without letting those details overwhelm everything. I often tell couples that a theme shouldn’t so much be overlay on top of their wedding but feeling like you’ve stepped into the aesthetic and world that you want to feature as part of your wedding. Especially with witchy or geeky details, this can be hard, but it’s so worth it to embody the aesthetic as part of your day. I and this vendor team tried so hard to really live a bewitching celestial world and we hope it will inspire others. We also hope that this will inspire real-life couples to trust their vendors with all their heart—if you love their work, they will lead you in the right direction.”

I was not expecting such a lovely winter wedding idea. Winter is the season of Christmas and having a celestial-themed wedding in this cold winter adds a tremendous amount of aesthetic to the wedding and its theme.
The cherry on top for me was the celestial look for the bride, and it will make the bride and groom look like Cinderella and the prince. Please keep posting more such posts for viewers like us.
Thank you!!
