FAR OUT WEDDING IDEAS FOR FUN LOVING COUPLES
When elopement and lifestyle photographer Mikayla Yeo, came across the unique, bohemian designs of ethical dress designer, Thrifts + Threads, she envisioned a sun soaked, fun loving bride, grooving with her new husband as the sun sets on the best day of their lives.
“The theme of this shoot was heavily inspired by hippie, boho vibes and the 70’s era, so I focused heavily on bringing together earthy colours, natural textures, and vintage pieces.” Mikayla began.
“I really wanted something that radiated a retro vibe, so we pulled together a vibrant palette of browns, rusts, and mustards accented with some lighter neutrals.”
“We headed to Gloss Mountain State Park which is such a pretty hidden gem in Oklahoma. Between the red dirt hills and the mountain top view, it is the perfect space for those who would love to have their elopement to have more a desert-y, adventurous feel, without requiring a ton of hiking or traveling once you park.” She explained.
“Don’t be afraid to go out of what is considered traditional or trendy for weddings right now – let your big day be all about what you feel completely speaks to your love and you!” Mikayla added.
“Many of the pieces used for this shoot were bought second-hand including the wicker pieces, wood divider, plates and cake stand. By thrifting and looking for pieces that fit your vibe, you’ll find the perfect pieces to complement you, your love story, and the theme you hope to create for your big day (without breaking the bank!).”
