FUNKY TENNIS THEMED ELOPEMENT INSPO
Summer 2021 will always be remembered as the summer of sport! Euro 2020, the Olympic and Paralympic games, Lion’s tour and of course who can forget the Wimbledon championships. To make the ending of our truly epic sporting season we just had to share this funky tennis court elopement.
Vivacious couple, Espy and Yaw who are partners both on and off the court, brought this vision to life. Along with a mix of vintage and modern styling, muted rainbow florals and two daring dresses, this vibrant and funky elopement editorial is here to serve as bold inspiration for modern, untraditional lovers.
Dana of Haus of Gravity, the planner and stylist behind the editorial, wanted to incorporate tennis-centric details – but with an edge.
“For the stationery elements, Kate of Kate’s Calligraphy crafted a suite with pastel hues and court-side lingo – and also fashioned some adorable vow books. Whilst, Sam of Moonflower Design created beautiful floral arrangements that perfectly complemented Kate’s work.” Dana began.
“An ombre, pastel install, adorned the tennis net and served as a chic, fun sweetheart table backdrop. A bridal bouquet with flowing silks, custom visor and daisy-covered tennis ball rounded out the florals. Sam totally aced the look!”
“A table for two – with rentals provided by Amanda of Sweetly Designed Events – was set up right on the tennis court. Luxe purple linens, bud vases with stunning anthurium, rattan chargers and fresh fruit set the stage for a perfectly sweet celebration.” Dana explained.
“Espy donned two stunning dresses by Glo Bridal, the first a short frock with a dramatic tulle cape and the second a more traditional – and equally as stunning – ballgown. The looks were taken up a notch with a fierce braided hairstyle by Styles by Callie, glam makeup by Makeup by Sarah Lord, pastel claws by Tess of TB Pressons and chic white sock booties. Yaw rocked a monochrome, all white linen suit. Together, they looked unstoppable.” She added.
“We were graced with an unbelievably warn spring day in New England and used this to our advantage. The sun’s harsh light cast striking shadows on the couple’s faces and props like disco balls, a trendy oval mirror and chalk calligraphy elevated the editorial to new heights. The vendor team wanted to make a racquet. Our goal was to disrupt the norm – and show couples anything is possible on their wedding day. Mission accomplished!”
