A MIDSUMMER COCKTAIL DREAM: AN INTIMATE WEDDING WHERE PLACES ARE REINVENTED
When we asked photographer Marcella Cistola about today’s edgy and incredibly artistic shoot she told us that “Being original is not an obligation, but every couple deserves to express their uniqueness.” and we absolutely love that! It’s something that we’ve always championed here at Bespoke Bride and we love when suppliers push the boundaries of their creativity! Are you ready to let your imagination run away with you? Let us take you to dreamy Italy with this styled shoot…
“The location is a private villa in Sabaudia beach, a wonderful seashore with suggestive natural dunes near Rome.” Photographer and concept stylist Marcella started. “With its garden reminiscent of the Maghreb architecture it is perfect for exotic intimate weddings, where formality leaves room for the desire to have fun and spend a day of relaxation and joy. You can abandon your heels to have your feet caressed by the lawn or cool them off in the pool, that can become the element that transforms the party into a real day of vacation. Also the proximity to the sea suggests a nice midnight swim with all the guests to end the day.”
“We took inspiration from the dreamlike images of the series “Swimming Pool” of the art photographer Maria Svarbova. Through a dreamlike journey inside the place of love as an exclusive space for two people, two spouses meet for a cocktail in the pool in a surreal setting, where places are reinvented and the empty space of the pool becomes an immersive environment, a symbol of the depth of feelings.”
“The handmade poster by the decorator and Graphic Designer Eloise from Blend lettering introduces this fantastic journey into the depth of love as if it were a vintage movie poster. It perfectly recaptures the shooting palette and projecting it out of a defined time.”
“Giulia and Pierfrancesco, the two protagonists, are two actors and a real couple in life: they deserve the credit for having filled the space of the pool with strong and fantastic energy.”
“Both dresses are by Antonella Rossi Roma. For a cocktail that was dedicated to relaxation and fun, we thought at two informal dresses, very comfortable. The bride wears a delicate short dress in Sangallo lace with a contrasting red belt which allows she to move freely in total lightness. For the groom a white silk suit with a cotton shirt with a mandarin collar, no tie for an outfit in total relaxation. The lightness of all natural materials ensure comfort and freshness.”
“For the bride, the flat sandal shoes by Jonak Paris, are characterized by comfort and freshness, they are coordinated with that for the groom by Asra London. Both refer more to an informal feeling of vacation than of ceremony.”
“Martinabì has created a minimal and graphic floral arrangement. With its supports filled with colored water it makes a clear reference to the cocktail and its colors. Her idea was to create something that was not static, but that changed with the flow of time. Through the colored shadows that the jars cast on the uniform background of the pool, the setting changes its way of occupying the space, creating a dynamic and surprising environment.”
“The cocktail # LA.SIRÈNE prepared by The Gipsy Market: Vodka Gray Goose, Karkadè syrup, Lemon juice,Lavender Bitter and confetti, has an intoxicating, fresh and mysterious flavor. Its creation is inspired by the magic of the sirens. “Sirens are nothing more than a dream of a brilliant poet who enjoys recreating them in glass crystals to make them appear to travellers who come to the gypsy kampina. Somewhere there is a lighthouse keeper who keeps all messages in a bottle. He re-reads them at night together with his beloved Siren.” A drink to pay homage to the visionaryArtist in Vintage Fashion Art inspired by Punk culture @SirenDeti.”
“Perfect for a tale suspended in a non-time, the wonderful cocktail set with an iconic design by Hermes, kindly provided by Leone Limentani Roma. Ilaria Bizzarri’s minimal and luminous make-up focuses on red lips, symbol of passion. Valentina Ricci has thought of a simple shape for the cake from which the aquatic-colored decorations emerge, like the scales of a fish.”
“What we wanted to suggest to couples is to always activate their creativity in planning the wedding. To try not to re-propose styles already seen but invent their own style. It is possible to do surprising and original things even with a not mind-boggling budget. The emphasis on minimalism for example, can certainly be a winning card, it must be designed with care: the fewer elements there are, the more they must be thought out carefully. We all love the shades of color, but a minimal palette of intense colors can be very impactful: unusual color combinations can be used to immerse guests in an unexpected environment.”
“Being original is not an obligation, but every couple deserves to express their uniqueness.”
