Beauty DIY: How To Create A Plaited, Beach Style Waves Look
Thanks to the lovely Isabel While from Bridal Styling we’ve now got a couple of hair DIY’s to share with you! First up…How to create a plaited, beach style waves look! It’s super easy to do to! However, we do agree in saying that doing your own hair on the morning of your wedding could potentially be quite stressful (hire a pro ladies!) but this look would work anywhere, not just on your special day! We know we’ll both be wearing it more often!
Step 1: Brush through the hair with a bristle brush and spray with a setting spray. Isabel used Paul Mitchell!
Step 2: Sprinkle some volumizing powder (we used dust it, schwarzkopf) and massage through the roots. This will create a nice texture throughout and give you some nice big hair!
Step 3: Time to start making some waves! The general rule is the longer the hair, the bigger the barrel you should use, for Emily’s hair Isabel used a Babyliss Pro Wand. Take a 2 inch squared section of hair and roll around the barrel from the root, you’ll need to hold it for around 30 seconds depending on the thickness of your hair.
Step 4: Continue the curling technique until you have curled every last piece!
Step 5: Massage the roots to create more of a ‘messy look’.
You can of course stop here if you like and rock the beach style waves this way! We’re going to continue on though and add some hair extensions for a little more length and thickness then we’re going to add a pretty plait across the face!
Step 6: Gently break the curls up a tad and spray with hairspray.
Step 7: Loosely section off the hair just above the ears then twist and pin on top of the head.
Step 8: Grab your hair extensions ready to clip in! Of course if you don’t have any spare hair handy (lol) then you can skip straight to step 11! It’s always a good idea to wash hair pieces with no conditioner as soon as you buy them, it makes the hair look a little more natural.
Step 9: Clip the extension underneath the hair, if you want a thicker look you can later add more hair pieces above this one.
Step 10: Continue to add a few more curls to the hair, making sure you blend pieces containing both your natural hair and the extensions, this will help to blend it all in.
Step 11: Start to create a normal side plait by taking 3 pieces from the front section of your hair.
Step 12: Continue the plait along the side of your head adding in extra pieces of hair from the top along the way!
Step 13: Pin the plait in place and add whichever accessory takes your fancy!
And you’re done! Get outside quick and start showing off your new do! (turn the heated wands off first though!)
Much Bespoke Love
