Whimsical Spring Wedding Styled Photoshoot at Deep River, Connecticut
“We had such a fun time putting together this whimsical inspiration shoot. Real couples are always the focus of our designs so we like to maintain a realistic view on what it could be like on their wedding day. This photoshoot features a head table, ceremony space, and lounge that could easily be utilized on your own wedding day. “, says Rachel of One Bell Designs.
“The ceremony space and the head table go hand in hand for this inspiration. All of the floral pieces at the back of the aisle are repurposed in front of the head table. This gave us the opportunity to maintain a table with minimal florals but still have a big impact. Another great way to create an impactful design on your wedding day is drawing the eye from floor to ceiling so your guest is interested in taking in the whole picture. This is why we included the candelabras, floral chandelier, and ladder installation.”, adds Rachel.
“Post-ceremony, our goal was to repurpose as much as possible. The aisle arrangements went to the head table, the chandelier was now above the dance floor, and the candelabras make it to the lounge. The lounge also provided a great “third space” within the event to promote guest conversation. It’s nice to introduce a new space during cocktail hour that is not designated specifically for eating or dancing. It’s best to place it in a space that can be used during cocktail hour and the reception so that when guests may need to kick off their dancing shoes later, it’s accessible through the night.
We hope you have so much fun planning your big day!” adds Rachel.
The inspiration
The inspiration for this photoshoot is whimsy, color, and romance with a heavy emphasis on floral details. Rachel of One Bell Designs, the planner who brought our shared vision together, pulled heavily from Elisabeth Sonrel’s art nouveau flower series.
Every wedding should be fully authentic to the newlywed’s love story, which is why they wanted to model what it looks like when a couple embraces their creativity while wedding planning. This is why the groom was in a green suit with a flower lapel instead of a boutonniere.
The models
The bride was styled in a way that is timeless, with flowers in her natural curls and a glowing makeup look. Her Essense of Australia gown with a flowing train and romantic lace lent the perfect amount of garden goddess energy.
The models were a real-life couple named Jeremy Torres and Bianca Scott. Jeremy is a Puerto Rican DJ known as DJ Lion in the wedding industry and Ms. Scott is an African-American and Cuban lawyer in NYC.
The Furniture
The deco-inspired furniture and bright, colorful floral details with hints of gold scattered throughout offered a sense of elevation to our styled wedding. The vendor team and models put together the perfect photoshoot for a modern vision of a floral-focused, art-deco-inspired, romantic wedding.
