Cody and Brandy’s Lovely Micro Wedding at Permanent Records in LA
We love Micro Weddings, so when we saw this lovely one – we definitely wanted to feature it on Bespoke Bride, so we talked to Ashley Joyce from Sorellina LA, and got the story behind this wedding…
“When Brandy and Zig approached us with their unconventional wedding plans, we knew we were embarking on a whimsical adventure. Their desire for a day filled with magic and charm that reflected their love as LA East Siders, music lovers and comic book aficionados was infectious. We eagerly embraced the challenge of bringing their Urban jungle fairy tale to life.
The enchantment began at our exclusive venue, Permanent Records, where Brandy and Zig exchanged vows. Against a backdrop of vintage vinyl and dimly lit ambiance, their love radiated, illuminating the room with warmth and joy. Permanent Records is a Micro-Wedding Spot that is affordable and a perfect spot for you and your guests to grab a drink to celebrate after the ceremony!
Dressed in a flowing gown that seemed plucked from the red carpet and a dashing pink suit reminiscent of a gallant hero, Brandy and Zig were the epitome of romance.
Following the ceremony, we whisked the newlyweds away to the quirky Cool Comic Book Store, Revenge Of, where they indulged their shared passion for all things nerdy and played the pinball machine (Brandy won!). Amidst shelves filled with graphic novels (one even written by the groom!) and action figures, they posed for photos that captured their playful spirits and shared interests. Every snapshot was a testament to their unique bond and the magic of their special day.
Next on the agenda was a pit stop at the bustling Grand Central Market, where Brandy and Zig treated themselves to an array of delectable snacks from diverse culinary traditions. We can never resist a moment to have our couples share a cone for the cutest photo op!
As the sun began its descent, we led Brandy and Zig to the heart of Chinatown for a breathtaking sunset dance. Against a backdrop of ornate lanterns and swirling colors, they twirled and swayed to the melody of their love.
Brandy and Zig’s wedding day was not just a celebration; it was an adventure in true Sorellina fashion! From the enchantment of Permanent Records to the whimsy of Revenge Of, and the culinary delights of Grand Central Market to the romance of Chinatown, every moment was infused with wonder and joy.”
Why We Love Micro Weddings
Micro weddings have captured the hearts of many, and it’s easy to see why. These intimate ceremonies, typically involving 20-50 guests, offer a blend of romance, personalization, and practicality that larger weddings often lack. Having attended and blogged about countless weddings, I can confidently say that micro weddings bring a unique charm that’s hard to resist.
First off, micro weddings allow for a truly personal touch. With fewer guests, you can focus on the details that matter most to you and your partner. Whether it’s a custom menu featuring your favorite dishes or personalized vows that tug at everyone’s heartstrings, the level of intimacy in a micro wedding is unparalleled. I recall one couple who opted for a backyard ceremony with handwritten vows and a home-cooked meal—it was simple yet profoundly moving, emphasizing their love over lavishness.
Moreover, micro weddings often lead to a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. There’s less pressure to entertain a large crowd, allowing you to spend quality time with each guest. This creates an environment where genuine connections can flourish. When my friends hosted a micro wedding in a charming rustic barn, the coziness of the setting encouraged heartfelt conversations and spontaneous laughter. It felt like one big family gathering rather than a formal event.
From a financial perspective, micro weddings are kinder to your wallet. With fewer guests, you can allocate your budget to splurge on the elements that truly matter to you, be it a designer dress, a gourmet meal, or a stunning venue. One couple I worked with chose a breathtaking cliffside location, an option that wouldn’t have been feasible with a larger guest list. The result was a picturesque ceremony that felt like a scene from a fairytale.
In essence, micro weddings encapsulate the essence of what a wedding should be: a celebration of love, intimacy, and personal connection. They strip away the extravagance and focus on what truly matters, making each moment more memorable. So, if you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s as meaningful as it is beautiful, a micro wedding might just be your perfect match.
