Emily & David’s Intimate and Romantic Elopement in the Dolomites with Final Stop at Marmolada Mountain
We talked to Cat Ekkelboom-White from Wild Connections Photography, who’s behind these stunning photos, and got the story behind this intimate and romantic elopement in the Dolomites with a final stop at Marmolada mountain…
“When Emily & David came across photos of the Dolomites, they knew instantly that this was where they wanted to get married. They dreamed of a day that was intimate and romantic, relaxed and yet still adventurous.
During the planning stages of their elopement, working together with their elopement planner Jlenia, they were unsure about whether they wanted to get up early and have their elopement at sunrise. Sunrise would mean starting hair & makeup at 2am, so it’s not surprising that they weren’t psyched in the idea. But after explaining to them the benefits of sunrise (fewer people and beautiful golden glow), and showing them photos of how it could look if they opted for sunrise, they decided to go for it. Sharing their private vows at sunrise ended up being their favorite part of the day. And you can see from the photos that it was 100% worth it!
After a post-sunrise refuel, with breakfast at a nearby mountain hut, the couple spend the next few hours exploring the nearby area before taking a helicopter tour around the Dolomites, landing at a mountain lake for a pause to cut their cake and making one final stop just behind the tallest mountain of the Dolomites, the Marmolada. They ended the day with a pizza party back at their chalet, which had been beautifully decorated with flowers.
The styling of their day was whimsical and romantic, reflected in the soft pink, cream and green florals, Emily’s stunning Winnie Couture gown, and their elegant choice of vow books and jewelry.”
