Haunted Wedding Shoot: A Dark Fairytale Twist at Casani Estates in Florida
As soon as we noticed this stunning haunted wedding shoot – we knew we wanted to feature it. So we talked to Jaimz Dillman, the creative consultant behind this shoot, and learned the story behind the gorgeous images.
“We’ve got the 10th annual Haunted Wedding shoot to finally share with everyone marking the last year of these Central Florida professional gathering for a twist on the traditional.
Personally, I’ve been involved in several of the shoots as Creative Consultant gathering participants, casting models, securing venues, and finding clothing to help round out the chosen theme of the year. By combining urban legends, horror stories, pop culture, and more this gave us a chance to stretch our creative brains a bit outside of the usual pretty pastels and traditions of everyday weddings.

Why We Love The Idea of a Haunted Wedding Shoot
There’s something undeniably captivating about the concept of a haunted wedding shoot. It’s a chance to toss tradition into a dark, mysterious abyss and instead embrace the eerie, the unexpected, and—let’s be honest—the fun. For me, the appeal goes beyond just cobwebs and candles. A haunted wedding shoot lets couples inject their personality into their big day in a way that’s bold, unique, and totally unforgettable.
I remember being part of a haunted wedding shoot where we transformed an old, creaky venue into the perfect spooky setting. The bride arrived wearing a black lace gown, her bouquet a mix of deep red roses and eerie, twisted branches. It was enchanting, and there was an almost theatrical quality to it. Every detail, from the fog creeping across the floor to the dark, moody lighting, made it feel like we had walked straight into a ghost story. There’s a thrill in turning something as traditionally romantic as a wedding into a playful nod to the supernatural.
But let’s not overlook the practicality of a haunted wedding shoot either. First, Halloween is prime off-peak wedding season, meaning venues are usually cheaper, and you can really let your imagination run wild with the decor. Those velvet drapes and antique candelabras you’ve been eyeing suddenly make perfect sense. On the flip side, some people argue that a haunted wedding might not appeal to older family members or those who are uncomfortable with the theme. But, let’s be real—when has everyone agreed on wedding themes anyway?
The most exciting part for me is how a haunted wedding shoot challenges the norm. It’s a bold statement that says, “We’re here for the drama.” It’s a chance to embody the dark fairytales we grew up with. It’s not just about the fright factor either. It’s about creating an atmosphere filled with symbolism—love, after all, is both life and death, right?
What I’ve learned from working on these shoots is that they create more than just great Instagram moments. They give couples a way to represent who they are, even if it’s a little wicked. There’s nothing quite like the moment when the fog rolls in, the lights dim, and the “I dos” echo through the dark. It’s theatrical, it’s magical, and it’s a wedding you’ll never forget. That’s why I’ll always love the haunted wedding.
