Kate Halfpenny Opens Her First Flagship Store!
I have been a huge fan of British designer Kate Halfpenny for quite some time now. She has designed some of the most inspirational dresses that I have ever seen and has made a serious name for herself designing gowns for celebrities such as Rihanna and Kate Moss. Kate launched her first bridal collection back in 2005 after Emilia Fox wore two couture gowns designed by Kate to her wedding. Since then Kate has been extremely busy evolving her creations and focusing on opening her first boutique.
This summer has seen the realisation of Kate’s dream as she opened her first flagship bridal boutique, Halfpenny London. Located on Bloomsbury’s Woburn Park, Kate is extremely proud of her store with its mid century glass chandeliers and array of antique furniture which showcases Halfpenny London’s bridal creations. “Woburn Walk is a dream backdrop to showcase our beautiful collection of bridal gowns” Kate says, “It was important for us to find a location and space that stayed true to the Halfpenny identity, quintessentially British!”
The boutique will see Kates visionary bridal creations split into four entirely British made collections. each with their own unique aesthetic and Halfpenny signature style running throughout. The boutique collection has a selection of ready to wear styles whereas the couture collection allows you to work closely with Kate to design a gown to your very own brief. Halfpenny London is Exclusive to the boutique with a semi-bespoke collection of exquisite signature dresses. You might also be interested to hear about Kates Halfpenny London Vintage collection, a small selection of vintage pieces sourced from around the world which can be altered to fit or used as inspiration in order to create a totally unique dress.
As if Kate wasn’t busy enough she now has big plans for the future “I would love to open another Halfpenny Boutique across the pond…”. Keep your eye on this one, we have a feeling it won’t be long until Halfpenny London goes global!
